Já perdi a conta de quantos álbuns ao vivo o Soft Machine já lançou, eu só sei é que vale a pena ter a maioria deles. Esse aqui é um dos mais recentes deles, feito a partir de uma gravação ao vivo na Alemanha em 1971. Essa gravação é um dos poucos registros da banda com o excelente baterista Phil Howard, que entrou para a banda após a saída de Robert Wyatt, mas que ficou pouco tempo com eles.

A maior parte do set é basicamente composto por músicas do 'Third' e do 'Fifth', o álbum que seria lançado em 1972, mas curiosamente com nada do 'Fourth', o último álbum deles até então. Mas mesmo assim, não deixa de ser imperdível pra qualquer fã do Soft Machine ou das bandas de Canterbury em geral.

Hello freaks,

I've lost count of how many live albums Soft Machine have already released so far, I just know that it's quite worth having most of them. This is one of their latest releases, made from a live recording in Germany back in 1971. This recording is a very rare capture with the excellent drummer Phil Howard, who joined the band after Robert Wyatt's departure, even though he came in for a short time.

Most of the set is basically formed with songs from 'Third' and 'Fifth', their forthcoming album for 1972, but curiously with nothing from 'Fourth', their then last album. On the other hand, it is really a must-have for any Soft Machine or other Canterbury bands fans.
