"Double album of the same great German prog from one of the most influential founders of Germany's progressive 70's rock scene. Like many of the Brain label recordings this carries a heavy underground Kraut rock aspect to it with heavy drooling organ wisps, driving electric guitar and great bass/drum interplay. This album also carries a great live feel to it with nice open concert hall sound throughout. JANE's music is always moving... melting aspects of classic and space rock into some wonderful sound definitions. I have always loved the jam portions on this live album... meaty little album... oh yes also was recorded by Conrad Plank!" (loserboy @ ProgArchives)

  1. The title refers to the fact that the original double-vinyl album was recorded live before a fiercely partisan crowd amid the spacious surroundings of the Nedersachsenhalle in their home town of Hannover on, of all dates, a Friday 13 in 1976. Unlucky for some but not for Jane, as the resulting album, along with the concept-based Fire Water Earth & Air LP that immediately preceded it, are considered the high points of their career (more than 3,000 spectators in the hall.) Typified by sluggish, mid paced tempos, a keyboard-heavy sound and occasional hints of early 70s Floyd, Jane are at their most hazily expansive on tracks such as Hangman and Windows, which clock in at 11- and 19- plus minutes respectively. On top of the original Live From Home album, this reissue also includes a previously-unreleased seventrack live broadcast from the archives of Cologne-based radio station WDR from January 1977, which includes even longer versions of the aforementioned epics.

Although the bonus material contains seven of the twelve pieces of 76'er concert, but these live versions are included from 1977 played in slightly different versions. Sonically, the material was very well presented. In addition, the more bonus material than convincing, so this version of the album is a must buy..in every music collection of rock fans.
