ENGLISH:
High Tide is already a known band over here in the brothel, but only now we finally managed to find a high resolution digital transcription from their first album, which can be undoubtely considered as one of the best and most original albums from the late 60s.

Right on their first album, you can realise that the band brought in their own and unmistakable style which offered a blend of elements from proto-prog, folk, psichedelia and even from Irish music. It is also quite heavy for a prog band, that's why nowadays they are referenced as one of the precusors of heavy metal and prog metal.

If you don't know it, here's another great chance to check it out!

  1. Wow...(LIBERTY STEREO LST-7638). Original FIRST Pressing!!! GATEFOLD COVER!! Fuzz Psych/Prog MONSTER!!!
One of the most important underground hard rock band from Britain and also a very influential group , although they never managed much commercial success.
I have this LP reissue, "Sea Shanties" has been meticulously remastered from the original stereo analog masters to faithfully preserve the sound of the original album. In keeping with the high standards for which Sundazed has become known, the album is pressed on high-quality, high-definition vinyl, with complete original cover art that reproduces artist Peter Whitehead’s elaborate gatefold design.
Continuing in its ongoing mission to return underappreciated vintage psychedelic gems to the marketplace High Tide’s beloved 1969 British cult classic Sea Shanties as it was originally meant to be heard, in the 12” vinyl LP format.
A one-of-a-kind collision of psychedelia, prog and heavy rock, Sea Shanties embodies the darker edge of psychedelic rock, while presaging the wave of heavy metal combos that would soon emerge in Britain. Although it’s been out of print in the United States for decades, Sea Shanties has attracted a fervent cult following in recent years, making this release a particularly timely one. One of the two most intense albums from the late 60's and 70's! Sabbatowska guitar, vocals, almost like a Jim Morrison to the manic parts of electric violin and a thick rhythm section, records are great, although for some it may be too intense an experience ... can induce a massive heart attack or stroke...
    for me at itself again!

  4. I usually use to listen to this album at least twice a week. Definitely one of the best from late 60s alongside Amon Düül II's Phallus Dei, for example.

And the next article will be about Brain Records. It's almost ready. ;P
