The album was a turning point in the band's career for several reasons. It was their last album for Decca, the last bow as a guitarist Eric Bell, and hence their last as a trio. `Vagabonds" was make or break a team, but instead did not. It was, however, life Lynott and Downey regroup before extending their legends. Lp is very hit or miss affair. While it is clear improvement from the previous album, it still is not one of the classics as a whole, that the team would later turn out in abundance... the rest is history  The most important for me, it will be "The Rocker", one of the most important works of his career and their  encore number future live many years!
The third studio album from Irish  group hard rock  'Thin Lizzy' This is the last album with original composition Phil Lynott , Eric Bell and Brian Downey, was "full of blistering blues-rock, folky / psychedelic tinged numbers, and dark, moody and atmospheric songs... Listening first three albums Thin Lizzy is an effort, but certainly worth it. It seems that Lynott attempted to sound like Jimi or Cream
"The Rocker" is actually a powerful anthemic number, strong riff-based melodies with more energy than contained in the whole album, "Mama Nature Said", almost frighteninghly convincing in its naivety. And finally, "Gonna Creep Up On You" is a "funk rocker", which will give you cramps and knees and toes bouncing in time. But remember to listen to it on headphones, otherwise you will not be able to appreciate the full splendor of a wah-wah work Bell, who supports the melody while Lynott impersonates rapper or someone like that.
But the real attraction is the breathtaking ballad Lynott in "Little Girl In Bloom". Everything about it is beautiful, ranging from four chords atmospheric minimalist bassline sounds, and ending with a delicate technique Lynott of "infiltration" all the verses of putting them together so that you feel more Lynotts talk to each other and moaning about a little girl in bloom "whose problem is that he is not married, but still carries the child, well, you know the rest ... Beautiful solo, too, and I again draw attention to the wonderful melodic invention - the bassline is worth any amount of angry acoustic guitar for such Numbers like "Call Today." In other words, a simple but untrivial musical idea is worth a whole load of musical . And this is to.Nie am particularly a fan of "Slow Blues", with the exception of heart intro and outro (the one that goes " My baby do not love me / my child is, and I was sad ..'), and closing ballad "A Song For While I'm Away" is too happy and banal for a band like Thin Lizzy ?, but as I said, everything else is a winner. Plus bonuses - "Whiskey In A Jar" cooks, and the other three tracks are in order. Maybe this album was not all that success in the market, but  has the lowest percentage of filler on the album, Thin Lizzy,as for me and I give the highest rating with no remorse.
Some critics have mixed reviews days before Lizzy is, stating that Lizzy was uneven tone and not "found" yet. Of course, they found themselves in a much different place than they started, but I certainly do not sound unsure of themselves on this album. Mixing elements of folk, funk, hard rock, and even the psychadelic rock, this album should appeal to fans of stoner rock and trippy hippy rock. Phil's voice is not as smooth as we know it will happen (which may be excessive production), but there are clues as to what will become the rocker Lizzy. This is a great album for anyone who appreciates style of Phil Lynott, as well as other interesting sites that kick in late 60s / early 70s music's. This is a surprisingly nice gem to discover.
Musically, this LP was composed of many great songs, many are among the best in the directory Lizzy... simply there are no bad compositions this album introduce anything to the music,  take risks...and it paid off!

E, finalmente, "Gonna Creep Up On You" é um "roqueiro funk", que vai lhe dar cãibras e joelhos e dos pés saltando no tempo.

  5. Great band, Thin Lizzy is one of the best British hard rock bands of the 70s. Album Vagabonds Of The Western World of 1973 is a mixture of heavy psychedelic, psychedelic blues and hard rock, the best track on this album "The Rocker" set the direction in which the band went on the next albums. The second CD contains a live recordings of the sessions for the BBC.
