Por esses dias eu tive a grande sorte de me deparar com essa gravação ao vivo do Hawkwind que talvez seja a melhor de todas feitas antes de 1977. Enquanto que o som da maioria dessas gravações é mais uma compilação de ruídos e chiados com poucos resquícios de música, esta aqui é talvez a única - entre os bootlegs - capaz de ser ouvida e reouvida infinitamente sem mutilar seus ouvidos. Não pela música - É LÓGICO! - mas pela qualidade sonora em si.
Essa gravação foi feita muito provavelmente durante a turnê do álbum 'Hall Of The Mountain Grill', mas já contendo algumas coisas que iriam sair no álbum seguinte, o 'Warrior On The Edge Of Time'. Melhor dizendo, aqui é o Hawkwind em seu auge.

Hello freaks,
In one of these days I had the great luck of stumbling upon this Hawkwind live audience recording which is perhaps the best one amongst all the pre-1977 tapes. Whereas most of these tapes sound like compilations of junky noise and with few vestiges of music, this is probably the only one - amongst bootlegs - you will stand nicely for infinite listenings without mutilating your ears. Not by the music - OF COURSE! - but by the sound quality itself.
This recording was much probably done during the 'Hall Of The Mountain Grill' album tour, but already containing some things which would be featured on their then forthcoming album - 'Warrior On The Edge Of Time'. To be clear and straight to the point, this is Hawkwind on their career peak.

A very good audience recording from the warrior at the edge period. Much, much better than the usual Hawkwind audience recording. The original had a few faults, mainly short gaps at the start of tracks and/or not starting at the right places.
ResponderExcluirAudience recording of Hawkwind's performance at du Montford Hall, Leicester, on 30 January 1975. The recording is sensationally good, especially for its age - rich and undistorted, and only perhaps lacking a little clarity. The show gets off to an excellent start, with the first portentous lines "We are standing on the edge of time", and a dramatic a pause, filled by someone in the crowd yelling the mot juste "Bollocks!" But they don't skip a beat, and the show proceeds in the best spacy, propulsive manner. A delight.
