Esse é o primeiro dos quatro registros do Saxon que irei compartilhar com vocês. Espero que gostem de N.W.O.B.H.M.
O Saxon é um dos maiores expoentes do estilo citado acima, juntamente com o Iron Maiden (que teve mais notoriedade) o Judas Priest (que já era consagrado) e o Angel Witch, dentre muitos outros grupos. Vindos de South Yorkshire, o grupo concebeu alguns dos hinos do heavy metal oitentista. O primeiro album não foi lá essa coisas, mas a partir de Wheels of Steel, o Saxon imprimia um heavy pesado e direto, com solos devastadores, cozinha afiada e voz e presença de palco imponentes do vocalista "Biff" Byford.
O album em si é recheado de clássicos, mas vale destacar as 4 primeiras faixas: Motorcycle man, Stand up and be counted, 747 (Strangers in the night) e Wheels of steel. De bonus, as demos e b-sides do album e a apresentação no "Monsters of Rock" em 16 de agosto de 1980. É mole ou quer mais!?

Saxon é foda d+ um dos melhores grupos de N.W.O.B.H.M. em 4 anos (79-82) produziram alguns dos maiores clássicos do heavy metal e tudo sem frescuras. Rápido e direto.

This is really a classic. I like it better than any of their other albums. I was lucky to hear it not long after it came out. Ppl who hear it now should know: if these songs sound run-of-the-mill, its cuz later bands copied them cuz they were so good. But the 'copies' never sounded as good as the originals. This album beats Judas Priest's "British Steel" by a mile (imo the most over-rated lp of the NWOBHM)
